Privacy Policy · Eativa
Last Updated: 2026/10/19
1. Introduction
Eativa is provided by Tunahan Aktay (“we”, “us”, or “our”). This policy explains how the app processes information and your choices. You do not need an account. We do not ask for your name or email address in the app or link analytics to them. Support messages contain the information you choose to send.
Eativa is a calorie and nutrition tracker: it estimates the calories and macronutrients of a meal from a photo, checks whether a dish looks vegan, gluten-free or acne-safe, suggests recipes from a photo, keeps a daily food log against targets calculated from your profile, and offers a collection of recipes. Your records stay on your iPhone. Before the first photo is sent for AI analysis, the app asks for your permission and names the AI provider; if you decline, no photo is sent. The app shows no advertising and does not use cross-app tracking to target ads.
2. Who We Are
Eativa is developed and operated by Tunahan Aktay, who is responsible for the processing described in this policy. Contact: tunahanaktay.apps@gmail.com.
3. Information the App Processes
Food log, profile and favorites
The meals you add to your daily log, with their calories, carbohydrates, protein and fat, are stored in the app’s local storage on your iPhone. So is the profile you enter for your targets: age, gender, height, current weight, target weight and activity level, along with the name and profile photo you may add and the recipes you mark as favorites. The app calculates your calorie targets and body mass index on your device. We do not receive these records, and they are not sent with photo analyses. Information about your diet and body can be sensitive, which is why it stays on your device.
Photos you analyze
When you use one of the analysis tools (Calorie Track, Get Meal Ideas, Recipe Finder, Is It Acne-Safe?, Is It Gluten-Free? or Is It Vegan?), the app sends the one photo you take or choose, as a JPEG image, to the AI service described below, together with the instructions for that analysis and the name of your device language. Your food log, profile and other photos are not part of the request. The analysis result, together with the photo, is saved on your iPhone. Recent analyses are removed after 30 days unless you save them. The app does not perform facial recognition or create biometric identifiers. A photo may still show a person or a place if you include one, so photograph the food or the label.
Identifiers, usage and approximate location
AIProxy uses a stable device identifier and your IP address to secure requests and measure usage limits. Firebase uses app or installation identifiers for analytics and configuration delivery. Firebase Analytics processes interactions such as screens viewed and features used, together with device information and approximate location derived from IP addresses. These records are not necessarily anonymous merely because we do not link them to your name. The app shows Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you allow tracking, Firebase Analytics can also receive your device’s advertising identifier with these records; if you decline, it does not. We use these records to measure and improve the app, and the app shows no ads. You can change your choice at any time in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security, Tracking.
Purchases
Apple and RevenueCat process transaction information and identifiers to provide subscriptions, restore purchases, and help us understand purchasing trends. RevenueCat also collects Apple’s install attribution token to attribute installs to Apple Search Ads campaigns. We do not receive your payment card details.
Diagnostics and support
Firebase Crashlytics processes crash reports and diagnostic information to help us fix failures. Service error records may contain technical details about a failed request. If you contact support, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you send.
4. AI Processing and Retention
Requests travel through AIProxy to OpenAI, whose AI model reads the photo and returns the analysis. Analysis is automated, and no person at our end views your photos unless you send one to us for support.
We do not keep photos or analysis results on our own servers. That does not mean the AI services retain nothing. Providers may retain requests, outputs or service records for operation, security, abuse prevention and legal requirements, depending on their terms and applicable settings. AIProxy’s published policy describes retaining request metadata, IP addresses and error responses for 30 days. OpenAI handles API requests under its own business data and retention policies. We do not promise zero retention, immediate deletion, or a fixed deletion period across the whole route.
For provider handling, see AIProxy’s Privacy Policy and OpenAI’s business data privacy information. Provider terms and settings determine any use of request content for training; this policy makes no blanket guarantee for every service in the route.
Deleting an analysis or the app removes its local copy. It does not delete device backups or records already held by providers. Contact us for help with a provider-held data request.
5. Third-Party Services
- AIProxy: Relays AI requests and handles security and usage-limit information.
- OpenAI: Runs the model that analyzes the photos you submit and returns the result.
- Firebase Analytics: Processes app usage, identifiers, device information and approximate location for analytics.
- Firebase Crashlytics: Processes crash and diagnostic records for app reliability.
- Firebase Remote Config: Delivers app settings using installation identifiers and network information, including IP addresses.
- RevenueCat: Manages subscriptions and purchase entitlements, purchase analytics and Apple’s install attribution token.
- Apple: Processes App Store purchases and supplies install attribution. Device backups you enable are governed by your choices and Apple’s applicable policies.
6. Purposes and Legal Bases
We process the photos you choose to analyze with your permission, requested in the app. We process local records to provide the features you use and purchase information to provide your subscription. We rely on legitimate interests for app reliability, analytics, security and responding to support, where permitted by applicable law. Where the law requires consent for particular processing, consent is the applicable basis. Using the app is not itself consent to every practice in this policy.
7. Data Retention
Your food log, profile, favorites and saved analyses remain on your iPhone until you delete them or delete the app; device backups may preserve copies. Firebase retains analytics and diagnostic records under identifiers according to its applicable retention settings and policies. Apple and RevenueCat retain purchase records under their policies and legal obligations. We retain support correspondence as needed to resolve your request and meet applicable obligations. AI-service retention is described in section 4.
8. Data Security
All data transmission between your device, our services and third-party providers is encrypted. We apply appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data. While no system can guarantee complete security, we continuously work to safeguard your information.
9. Children’s Privacy
Eativa is not intended for children under 13, or under the minimum age of digital consent in your country if higher. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has shared personal data with us, contact us at tunahanaktay.apps@gmail.com and we will help delete it.
10. International Transfers
Our providers process data in the United States and other countries. Where EU or UK law requires it, these transfers rely on the providers’ data protection terms, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
11. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, including Turkey, the EU, the UK and California, you can ask to access, correct, delete or receive a portable copy of your personal data, object to or restrict its processing, withdraw consent at any time, and complain to your local data protection authority. Because we do not link analytics identifiers to your name or email address, we may be unable to find records that belong to you; email us and we will help as far as we can. You can decline AI consent and keep using the recipes, the nutrition calendar and your profile. Withdrawing permission for future analyses does not undo processing already performed. You can delete analyses in the app, and Delete Account in the profile removes your analyses, food log, profile and favorites from the device. You can manage camera and photo permissions in iOS Settings. We do not sell your personal information.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted here with a revised “Last Updated” date. If a change is significant, we will announce it in the app or on this page before it takes effect, and ask for consent again where the law requires it.
